Where is the Miami Real Estate market heading ?

As a financial advisor I see a bottoming out of the market by 3rd quarter of 2009. The inventories are starting to decrease and low interest rates are stimulating the buyers to come into the market to buy these distressed homes.

Opening Day experience at AIA national convention on Miami Beach

On Thursday my wife Giselle and I were invited by our good friend Jorge Blet from Mechoshade to come visit the 2010 AIA national convention at the Miami Beach Convention center. We arrived via my Solar Utility Vehicle as it is known by these days and saw that the parking lot was full. I expected a good turnout as well inside. Boy was I wrong. The show itself was filled with wonderful vendors from all over the country showcasing their product lines. We met vendors from Chicago putting up Green roofs in Miami for several commercial buildings, Sustainable flooring companies using bamboo and coconut palms to name a few, however the halls were fairly empty for being opening day. As we walked down the mostly empty recession struck aisles Giselle and I were invited to eat upstairs at the Asian restaurant compliments of Mechoshade. Miami Home Sales Continue Dramatic Increase in May NAR Chief Economist Says Florida Market May Have Bottomed Miami, FL – In Miami, there was a 76 percent increase of existing single-family home sales in May 2009 compared to May 2008. Miami was the strongest single-family market in Florida showing a substantial increase compared to only 16 percent statewide. The sales of existing condominiums in Miami-Dade increased by 36 percent compared to the same period last year - and to the 21 percent statewide increase. The Miami real estate market has experienced a surge in sales each of the last 10 months. According to National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Chief Economist Lawrence Yun, the South Florida real estate market may have hit bottom. “We’re certainly near the bottom if not at the bottom already,” said Yun at the recent International Real Estate Congress and Expo in Miami.
