Where is the Miami Real Estate market heading ?

As a financial advisor I see a bottoming out of the market by 3rd quarter of 2009. The inventories are starting to decrease and low interest rates are stimulating the buyers to come into the market to buy these distressed homes.

On Thursday my wife Giselle and I were invited by our good friend Jorge Blet from Mechoshade to come visit the 2010 AIA national convention at the Miami Beach Convention center. We arrived via my Solar Utility Vehicle as it is known by these days and saw that the parking lot was full. I expected a good turnout as well inside. Boy was I wrong. The show itself was filled with wonderful vendors from all over the country showcasing their product lines. We met vendors from Chicago putting up Green roofs in Miami for several commercial buildings, Sustainable flooring companies using bamboo and coconut palms to name a few, however the halls were fairly empty for being opening day. As we walked down the mostly empty recession struck aisles Giselle and I were invited to eat upstairs at the Asian restaurant compliments of Mechoshade. Gas prices force buyers to rethink suburbs

WASHINGTON – Aug. 12, 2008 – High gas prices are affecting American workers' attitudes toward commuting and are prodding many to trade in their large homes in the exurbs for smaller, more urban properties. Buying a 6,000-square-foot home with a large yard and a sport-utility vehicle to boot made sense when gas and property prices were low, economists say, but gasoline is now cost-prohibitive for many. If the federal government lifts the heavy gas subsidies that encourage suburban growth, many Europeans pay $8 a gallon for gas, suburban residents will abandon their properties en masse and move in closer to urban transit stations. "What were pluses of that lifestyle are now liabilities: a big SUV, a big home to heat, the energy needed to mow the lawn," says CEO Tom Darden of the Raleigh-based real estate conversion group Cherokee Investment Partners.
